| Since Camp Shane is a weight reducing camp, it
provides an extra dimension of reward for staff. In
the camp environment, where there is no name calling
or fierce competition, campers are eager to learn
new skills. They develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment
and pride as they learn. Further, in the relaxed friendly
atmosphere at camp, strong lasting, and beautiful
friendships develop between campers and staff. Then,
as the weight losses start to become significant,
the whole camp works with and encourages each other.
An atmosphere of terrific excitement and closeness
envelopes and remains within the camp.
By the end of the summer, the campers are different
people. They are thinner, more confident people, so
that their summer experience can improve their lives,
even after they return to school and home.
We very much want and think you will have a terrific
summer. Working here will give you the opportunity
to significantly and positively change the lives of
children. The satisfaction and personal growth you
will gain is invaluable. And the memories and friendships?
Priceless.
