The object of the classes is to creatively introduce topics and involve as much class discussion as possible.  We listen to all that a camper has to say.  There are many hidden clues as to how campers feel about themselves, what is going on at home with parents, siblings, friends and school.

Eating patterns are often due to a lot of unneeded stress.  Stress that campers don't know how to deal with or don't realize they have.  Here the nutritionist plays a very important role.  Our nutritionists are people the campers can confide in as an authoritative and understanding adult figure.  All questions, comments etc. are allowed in class.  There are no stupid questions.  Some of the questions we ask, stress and emphasize over and over again are:

  1. Why do you eat when you're not hungry?
  2. How do you feel when you do eat?
  3. How are WE going to solve these problems dealing with:

Family interaction                   School                                   Peers
Outside pressure                    Boyfriend/Girlfriend
