We never would have imagined that Mark would have come home looking as wonderful as he does. The waist size that had been 44 is now 38 and he looks GOOD. More importantly, he feels good. He has thanked us for sending him to Shane. And we thank you for helping him regain his life. |

I wanted to thank you and let you know how Chelsea is doing since she is home. She is a different person, is able to make better choices and doesn't want to go back to her old body. |

When visiting day came I couldn't find Chris. I really had to look twice because my son had lost 29 pounds and looked great. The tears flowed down my face and I ran to him. I knew at that point I had made the right decision, Through out the whole day we noticed not only the physical change in Chris but he himself even changed. He became grown-up, responsible, strong, proud and sure of himself. He learned how to take care of himself. |

One late night in spring 2003, we watched MTV about Camp Shane. In May, we went to the Open House. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, professionalism, counselors who were campers and the owners' enthusiasm. His accomplishment was a loss of 35 pounds in five weeks!! He went from 244 to 209 at 6 foot 2 inches! His pants size went from size 44 to 36!! I couldn't believe it!!! The discipline and determination my son learned was WORTH IT!!!! When he returned to school (first year of high school), many of the children were surprised at the slender Anthony! He walks with pride and confidence. |

My son & daughter have both attended Camp Shane. Our son had been to several doctors and we had tried to motivate him. He had been bullied and was always the last person chosen for sports games at school. Since camp, he has maintained his total weight loss of 100+ pounds for over a year and has been able to stop asthma medication that he had been taking for ten years. Both are happier and more self-confident. Did they call home? Rarely. They were too busy. Did camp keep them hopping? You bet! Was it worth the money? Absolutely! Would we as parents do it again? In a heartbeat! Would my children go again? They would love to stay the whole summer! |

My 16 year old son is a great teenager who suffers none of the typical teenage angst. However, his self esteem, or lack thereof, is and was a major concern for me. So, I did my research, and sent in my check. It was truly the best investment I've made. He has come back from camp with a renewed sense of who he is. His self confidence is wonderful. Everyone at Camp Shane went above and beyond in accommodating us. The staff, were wonderful. Before he went to camp, I explained to him that it didn't matter to me whether he gained 5 lbs or lost 10. I wanted him to see himself as we do. He did that and lost 25 lbs as well. For us, Camp Shane was and is incredible. |

When we arrived, my son was greeted with a smile and clear, concise instructions. We met one of his counselors who knew just what to do to make my son feel welcome. As we left our son at his bunk, I turned around to find him surrounded by boys introducing themselves and helping him get settled. We were impressed with the rustic charm of the camp and the grace of the directors - grace under pressure, I might add, since we were late arriving and they had a gazillion other things they were trying to coordinate. All-in-all, I think Camp Shane is going to be one of those experiences my son looks back on as among the best of his childhood. I highly recommend this camp to anyone who has an overweight child and who needs help teaching them good habits. My son has already asked if he can go back next year. What better recommendation can you ask for? |

Camp Shane has had a very positive impact on my daughter's and the entire family's life. She had the time of her life. Not only did she lose weight, she also learned about good nutrition and made a lot of good friends. When she asked to go back a second year I asked her if it was the weight loss she liked or the camp. She loved the camp and of course the weight loss is a bonus. I would highly recommend the camp and plan to send my daughter again next summer. |

While researching a summer camp for our 11 year old son, we spent many hours pouring over web sites and studying promotional literature for various places. No other camp provided more info or had more reputable supporters than Camp Shane. WE WERE SO RIGHT! He absolutely loved his time at Camp Shane. To say that he thrived in their atmosphere would be precise. Yes, he lost weight, but the self confidence and feelings of accomplishment he gained there are priceless. We feel that his time at Camp Shane did indeed alter his life. |

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the wonderful summer our son had at Camp Shane. What a major accomplishment for Ross-and I know a great source of pride. Camp Shane made us believe that could happen. |

Yesterday, while visiting my son on “visiting day – it felt like a dream. He was relaxed, confident and happy. He wasn’t worried about family, friends, school, doctors, or therapy. He was just a happy kid-the way it should be! |

Thank you so much for giving my grandson the opportunity to come to your camp. After the death of his mom the lights went out in his eyes-you and your staff made a young mans eyes shine again. |

When I picked up my daughter after her 3 week stay at your camp I cried. I could not believe how wonderful she looked. She lost 16 ½ pounds in 3 weeks. She had a great time and was hugging all of her friends and staff good-bye. Your camp and staff get 5 stars from me!! |

We came up to “open house” on May 18th to see the camp. I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how impressed and pleased we were. The camp is much more than we expected. |
