Our advisory panel consists of Physicians, Psychologists, Registered Dietitians and Exercise Experts.

This highly qualified source of expertise enables us to be certain that our weight loss programs are safe, scientific, effective and comprehensive.

Dr. Michelle P. Maidenberg, Camp Shane’s Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) program is designed and supervised by CBT expert Dr. Maidenberg, Ph.D., MPH, LCSW-R, CGP. She is the President/Clinical Director of Westchester Group Works, a Center for Group Therapy in Harrison, NY where she also maintains a private practice. She is also the President and Cofounder of “Thru My Eyes” a nonprofit 501c3 organization that offers free clinically-guided videotaping to chronically medically ill individuals who want to leave video legacies for their children and loved ones.

Diane M. Henderiks, R.D. is a Registered Dietitian, author of a series of Healthy Gourmet Cookbooks and the chef and regular contributor for Good Morning America. Diane assures the menus at Camp Shane are healthy, kid friendly and usable to families at home after Camp. She is an active member of the American Dietetic Ass

Joel Haber, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist who has devoted more than 20 years to the identification, prevention and reduction of abusive behaviors from childhood through adulthood. Joel runs staff training sessions at Camp Shane and many other Camps to prevent bullying.

Anat Niv is a Certified Physical and Health Education Teacher (Grades K-12) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and an emphasis in Physical and Health Education. She is certified by the IDF (Israel Army) as a Combat Fitness Instructor and is specialized in self defense and repelling. She is also certified to use the ‘Heart Rate Monitor for Children’ as part of a fitness program. Anat creates, runs and advises Camp Shane’s fitness and exercise programs to ensure they are safe and effective.
