New York Trip
We are thrilled to offer 3 different trips this summer!
New York City – Trip 1: This 1-day trip is available to campers attending sessions 1, 2 or 3
This trip begins with an exhilarating ride on ‘The Beast’ (a 70-foot off-shore racing powerboat) through the New York City harbor. Then, we’ll visit the Empire State Building to enjoy breathtaking views of the city and take photos from the 86th floor observatory deck. Afterwards, campers will enjoy a walking tour of New York City, including stops at Macy’s, Bryant Park, souvenir shopping on Broadway and the opportunity for more photos in Times Square. A nutritious dinner will be served at the famous Planet Hollywood restaurant followed by an evening production of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ on Broadway. When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it’s the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he’s always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down the sugary corridors and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems. After enjoying this musical, choc-full of fantastical treats to dazzle their senses, campers will board the deluxe motor coach and return to camp.
Boston & Six Flags Great Adventure –
Trip 2: This 2-day trip is available for campers attending sessions 2, 3 or 4.
This is an awesome overnight adventure! Campers will depart from New York and arrive in Boston to participate in a guided tour of the Freedom Trail (highlights include Old North Church, the Paul Revere Statue and the Holocaust Memorial.) Campers will get the chance to stroll around Faneuil Hall and Quincy Marketplace in the heart of downtown Boston before heading to the New England Aquarium for both an educational and highly fun experience marveling at the beauty of brilliantly colored fish and the playful antics of penguins and sea mammals. Next, all aboard a ‘Duck’ for a famous Duck Tour in an authentic renovated World War II amphibious landing vehicle. Fun, games and a healthy dinner will be served at Dave and Buster’s with unlimited video games and 48 chips for prize redemption games. The following day, the deluxe motor coach will transport campers to Six Flags New England and Hurricane Harbor Water Park for coasters, rides and water park fun. Another nutritious dinner will be served at Applebee’s on the way back to camp after campers are thoroughly exhausted from two days of memorable fun!
New York City – Trip 3: This 1-day trip is available to campers attending sessions 3, 4 or 5.
Visit the Central Park Zoo for a ‘Total Experience’ including admission to the main zoo, children’s zoo and 4D Theater. Next, take a driving tour filled with iconic sights down historic 5th Avenue. Enjoy a matinee production of “On Your Feet!” – the life story of Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan, complete with some of the most famous songs of the last quarter century including “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” “Get On Your Feet,” “Don’t Want To Lose You Now,” “1-2-3” and “Coming Out of the Dark.” Prepare to be on your feet from start to finish! Afterwards, enjoy dinner at Ellen’s Stardust Diner with entertainment from waiters and waitresses (future “Broadway” stars) as they sing and serve you. Digest after dinner with a nice walk around Broadway while browsing shops and vendors for official NYC souvenirs. Take a look in the beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral to view its architecture, history, and spirit. End the day on ‘Top of the Rock Observation Deck’ at Rockefeller Center with breathtaking landscapes stretching miles in every direction. It includes a panorama of Central Park, the northern half of Manhattan and many other New York landmarks including the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, before boarding the deluxe motor coach and returning to camp.
