We all love a nice, relaxing Sunday morning eating a comforting breakfast full of eggs, bacon, and pancakes…we just don’t love those extra calories and fat grams that come with it. Next time you go to grab the pancake mix, think again! These banana pancakes are truly great tasting and nutritious and you would never know they are low calorie and high in protein. This is a great recipe to try on your kids and can even help with kids weight loss!
Ingredients (2 Servings)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
-Mix Ingredients well (in a blender or in a bowl) until it looks like a pancake batter. Spray your pan down and pour the batter into small pancake-like shapes.
-When the pancakes become bubbly it is time to flip them over. NOTE: These cook faster than regular pancakes do.
-Cook until golden brown and put on a plate to serve.
How do I garnish these?
The possibilities are endless! Try some fresh berries, extra bananas, honey, agave, or even a little extra cinnamon. You could even cook some blueberries or pecans right into the pancakes for a little extra flavor and nutrients.
So why are these better than regular pancakes?
These pancakes are made with purely natural ingredients. These pancakes are gluten free, high in protein, contain only natural sugars and still taste delicious. These pancakes are only 185 calories and 6 grams of fat per 3 pancakes compared to a nationally known chain restaurant’s 3 pancakes weighing in at 470 calories and 15 grams of fat. You could even try this recipe in a waffle maker. This recipe is sure to be a hit with the family and allows them to enjoy a breakfast favorite with a healthy twist! At Camp Shane, we love having our campers learn how they can enjoy their favorite foods in a healthier manner.
